Siyam World Maldives — Island-Wide Waste & Energy System
Siyam World Resort, Maldives
Project Overview
A proposed waste management and clean energy concept for Siyam World, one of the Maldives' flagship luxury resorts. A Memorandum of Agreement was signed with Sun Siyam Group in October 2025 to explore island circular resource infrastructure; the proposed system remains subject to feedstock assessment, engineering validation and project approval.
The Challenge
Luxury resort islands in the Maldives generate significant volumes of mixed waste daily, which must either be transported by boat to the main island at significant cost and carbon footprint, or incinerated openly on the island itself, impacting guest experience and the marine environment.
Our Solution
OneTouch Group has proposed a landscape-integrated waste concept for the island, covering dry combustible waste, kitchen waste, metal cans, and construction debris. The specific configuration, and which waste streams it will ultimately cover, depend on a feedstock assessment and engineering validation that have not yet been completed.
Results & Impact
- Memorandum of Agreement signed with Sun Siyam Group (October 2025)
- Proposed concept covers dry waste, kitchen waste, metal, and construction debris streams
- Feedstock assessment and engineering validation not yet completed
- Project remains subject to formal approval before implementation
